What a proper installation includes

Drywall installation is three jobs in one: hanging, taping, and finishing. Hanging is screwing the panels to the framing — the fast part. Taping beds paper tape into the seams with joint compound. Finishing is three coats of mud, each wider than the last, sanded between coats. Skip or rush any step and the paint will show it.

We do all three, in order, with drying time between coats. That is the whole difference between walls that look like glass and walls that show every seam.

Where new drywall goes

How long it takes

A single room usually takes three to five working days: one day to hang, then tape and three coats with drying between, then final sanding. Nobody can honestly promise faster — mud shrinks as it dries, and each coat needs its turn. Our timeline guide has the full breakdown.

What affects the price

Square footage, ceiling height (vaulted ceilings cost more), how many corners and cutouts the room has, and the finish level you choose. Nationally, homeowners often see hang-and-finish work in the low thousands per room — but your room decides your number.

A note on prices: material and labor costs move up and down, and no two jobs need the same work. Treat any numbers on this page as starting points, not quotes. Your written estimate after our free visit is the real number for your project.

Questions homeowners ask us

How long does it take to drywall a room?

Usually three to five working days for hang, tape, three coats, and sanding. The coats need drying time between them — that is physics, not padding.

Do you supply the materials?

Yes. Board, tape, mud, corner bead — all in the written price. You do not haul a thing.

Can you match my existing walls?

Yes. We match your existing texture — orange peel, knockdown, or smooth — so new work blends with old. See drywall texturing.

Do you install moisture-resistant drywall?

Yes, and we insist on it in basements and bathrooms. Regular board in a damp space is a future mold problem.

What happens after you reach out
